Half is Whole is a three channel documentary discussing single parenting. The work is partly based on Tuomaala’s own memories and experiences as a child of a single parent. The subject is approached through the friendship of a mother and a daughter.

The aim of the work is to emphasise that an ideal family is based on trust, whatever the composition might be.
